Going to the movies with kids is an event in and of itself, and now amovie theater chain in Southern California is hoping to make movie-going even more fun for families by building an in-theater playground.
Cinepolis, a theater chain with locations mostly in Mexico (but with over a dozen stateside) is opening up their first two Cinepolis Junior theaters in California.
Its really intended to make kids feel welcome and comfortable, Cinepolis USA Chief Executive Adrian Mijares Elizondo told the LA Times. The whole idea is to make it easier for parents to take their kids to the movies and let the kids have more fun.
The first two of the $500,000 theater playgrounds are opening next week with showings of the live action Beauty and the Beast, and tickets will cost an extra $3.
The theater features more fun seating options as well for the intended audience of children ages three to twelveyears old, such as bean bag two-seaters and reclining cabana chairs, which sound kind of awesome.
It also has playground equipment, slides, and decor to match the whole theme they’ve got going on.
